What struck me as interesting is the fact it was the barrel lens version and not one with a studio shutter.

For those who believe the roundness of the aperture has a lot to to with bo-... bo-... bok-... the "b" -word, the barrel aperture is very round, and the studio shutter is very roughly shaped. (Other than with flaring reflections of the aperture-shape itself, I don't think it makes much difference.)

It's nice to see the Velostigmats getting some respect. They used to be the "cheapies", but they've always been lovely to use.

My three year old weighs less than that lens ! I posted a blurb about this lens on my blog. This has to be the largest Petzval sold on ebay - perhaps ever !
