Same vintage - just the 305mm came in 2 flavors, f/4.8 mounted in a #5 universal (usually) shutter. The other flavor was the f/4.5 in barrel. The shutter'd version almost always sells for (much) more than the barrel version...

Are you familiar with the way Kodak dates their lenses? "CAMEROSITY"
The first two letters of the serial number give the last 2 years of the date. C=1, A=2, and so forth until Y=0.
"RM" in the shutter version you refer to was manufactured in 1953. R=5, M=3.
The barrel version did not provide photos with the serial in view.
The barrel lens was RC or 1951 and the shutter'd version was RM or 1953

Thanks for the quick info! I'd forgotten about camerosity.
I've just had a note from Jonathan Brewer that someone has stolen his ebay identity and also is trying to "sell" a Pinkham & Smith Visual Quality lens that he once owned. They are using his text and his pictures. It is a total scam, so beware beware beware.

Well if the 305 Kodak Portrait is to steep for all you cheapskates out there. Then go for the 9" Verito in studio shutter (missing all exterior parts) for $3000.00.
It's the same fellow. Go figure.
