I almost pulled the trigger on this one. It looked to be in beautiful condition. Item # 311531975674. Not all polished out. Beautiful patina! Would have been nice for my 8 A.

That's a epic petzval by a company I really like. 15.5" back focus means it's probably an 18 inch or larger lens. Very rare in this size. I like these, and have one wholeplate, and 3 halfplate (9") ones.

I watched that one two. I was under the impression that the number 4 peerless portraits were 15.5 inch total FL. Do you think this really was an 18 inch?

Rudi, I was tempted and would have been bidding higher. I thought it would make it to the high 3's or low 4's. If I had not committed to my friend Tri on a beautiful lens I would have most likely pulled the trigger. Now that you are telling me how nice it was I should have. Oh well.

Between $2,500 and $2,950 ... e**y has made it difficult to follow sales in some cases. The first number I based on the financing info that pops up. I found that to track the actual number quite accurately in many cases.

A very attractive F&S / Eastman slim front standard Studio camera with sliding back plus an OK Dallmeyer 3B. Described as an ex Hollywood prop and shown with Scorsese. Described as "Awesome home decor". Stayed at the starting price of 2,500 usd. Glad people showed sense.

Some wag asked whether he meant Dallmeyer rather "Dallmayer"! But then Mayer is important in LA history.

Something for the smaller LF brigade!

Dallmeyer 1A 182012249469 "scratch on rear lens" otherwise average. £286. Much more uncommon than the smaller B series. Auction.

Spencer Port-Land 1st series 6", F4.5 291676373615. Looked odd because of the use of makeshift brass ring instead of flange. Average? These smaller Portlands get their black enamel easily marked. £399.99. BIN.
