Seller made a "ba**s u*" of the listing. Questions made it obvious he should have opened up for non-UK.
I suppose there was enough time for interested to have made "arrangements" with UK based friends?
I didn't dare to disturb anybody to help me... but i asked the seller to open up his auction.
He replied that Ebay requested some kind of paper to be filed to open the auction of vintage items to foreign bidders.
I don't remember the exact terms of the problem, but i remember that he was offered 250 pounds for a BIN
After sending two emails i gave up.
I don't understand why he didn't relist the item, for example as large format lens, instead of antique/vintage.
I am a very tight pocket (i wish i could buy whatever i like, instead of what i can afford), but i was eager to beat the £250 offer. I payed 270 pounds for my No.3 Hermagis Eidoscope, and the Kershaw was well worth the same money, IMHO.
    have fun

Strange. I've bought lots of vintage items from UK sellers, many of them small sellers (all my Periflex and Agiflex gear, as well as a bunch of lenses). No one has ever had any objections to selling outside of the UK, nor has postage ever been that expensive, except for my Marion Soho Reflex with the Dallmeyer Pentac.

Shame on you bargain hunters - where were you ?!

300793233506 - Cooke Series VI early soft version 13" (8x10). £263. VM suggests this version is the same optical design as the series II.

    Reasons?

Early version , single photo, Reserve bid level.
But good description and a history of listing quality lenses.

Series VI and IV are both f5.6 triplets but the VI is Portrait with soft focus and IV is mostly for smaller press cams. and field cameras. Series VI is actually more interchangeable with Series II. Why bother with an f5.6 and an f4.5 series? The difference in physical size was a magnitude. Series II 12 3/4" and Series VI 15 1/2" are physically the same size lens. They use the same flange.

$100 US to get it shipped here is excessive.

Sorry about the "IV" slip - it's corrected to II in my note - but the original mistake carries through in the quotes!
