I mentioned only a few capitals, but professional ateliers (with loads of equipment) were in every town of any size.
Just look at CdeV and Cabinet card/album collectors lists of known studios, A town like Göttingen (Germany) had A.Schmidt's establishment at 3a Wender Str, his competitor W.Grape down the street at no. 80 and at least one other, Robert Bein at 13, Gauss (!) strasse.

80usd - was that including the 18x24 camera? Mine was just a bonus with a Century Studio set.
If Cooke have spectacles, then I think it is appropriate that Universal have ears (which, of course, are just special screws)!

..alas I fear Eddie already have vacuum cleaned Prague.... In my experience (have been there more than 25 times) is, that there's "nothing" left...
10 years ago it was fantastic... not any more (but the city is still the most beautiful in the world..)...

Prague is emty now, only time to time, something interesting is founded. Right now, friend of mine found a Darlot Cone Centraliseur with heigh of 50cm, I don't know what is focal length.
Price? better don't say :-)

But, for Eidoscope lens, it was eden before several years :-)

A rare Goerz Hypar 36cm - also e**y - looked quite OK, 445 euros.

The seller originally had it on a BIN for over $2000USD...I would guess the final auction price was a little bit disappointing to them (not that it was worth anywhere near the original asking price)

trying to console myself with a Lancaster meniscus with detachable iris assembly, got for a cheap price
looks bigger (hopefully longer focal) than a similar lens i have at home
