The seller seems to have no doubts about what he was listing and kept to facts. The thing that convinced me that it is a genuine Tessar was the added 3.5 F scale. I wonder if the distance between the cells is precise enough to function as a Tessar or will it be soft!
Capture the images, and keep them for future reference if it shows up again.

Sticking those Tessar elements in there was probably a great improvement. Those Pinkham & Smiths never were that sharp.
Just for the record, the P&S serial number was 2810, though I think I could make it 2840 with a nail...

Clean but without flange. A quite good listing, including the advert showing the sizes available and the 2 series available with "good" or "excellent" glass. I wonder if these were, in fact, made in two versions, as I have never seen these with any indication on the lenses as to which series they belong?

The general fall in quantity of interesting pictorial lenses continues, I think. Anything offered at realistic prices through BIN or low starting prices gets a lot of attention.
