Could the middle lens in the top row have been a Portland type 2 or 3? The 3 London stereoscopic co. lenses could be just a bonus! Sold for usd 135 buy-it-now. Disappeared after an hour, whilst I was looking at it and attempting to buy them.

Or is it a Pinkham Series VI? Go ahead. Torture yourself. Nope it wasn't me. I'd have jumped instantly if I'd seen it while it was up though.

I couldn't not but approach the seller - in the interests of "contributing to the theme of this thread - not to rub salt in the wound!
"An engraving which is difficult to read because of corrosion". Still looks like a Portland.

Very very attractive Darlot Opticien Paris, Puyo Anachromat d'atelier no.1. One of easily identifiable versions (VM). In a very bright finish (aluminium?). USD 1250.

My guess would be nickle-plated brass. A pretty fair price, considering the rarity, condition, and focal length, (though personally, I'm not overly impressed by the image qualities I've seen from Puyo lenses).

This is, perhaps, an example of how a "realistic" buy-it-now price actually helped keep bidding sane/conservative at the kill?
It certainly looks like nickel plate and perhaps the individual lens are thin enough to keep the weight down - as described in the listing.

This seems a bargain compared to other things lately, like ordinary projector lenses!

No kidding. It didn't even have the gratuitous page and a half of fluff or the yellow film canister.
