I've published a first stab at the serial numbers associated with Pinkham & Smith Soft Focus lenses. IT's a start ...

Much thanks to all who contributed and I'm looking forward to receive more info as times goes on. I also have a list in the works for Karl Struss lenses and it shouldn't be a surprise that this list is significantly shorter at this point.

I saw this yesterday and was gritting my teeth because I didn't have the funds available to bid on it.

Believe it or not there was some precedent for that. A friend of mine, Jonathan Brewer had one, either 16" or 18", I can't remember now. We didn't know a third party (seller) had us bidding against each other. I was offering $1100 (10+, years ago? a good bit of change then.) Jonathan got it for around $1500. He did a nice job of restoring it. It was brother to this lens in the sale. Painted black with the same paint brush the guy painted his model T with it seems. It looked just like the one just sold, but bigger. J was kind enough to let me have it for a couple of months and I made some images that are on my web pages somewhere. J was in a bad accident and had to sell some of his things to pay for doctors. He got 15 large for that lens. Timing was perfect. But that's no doubt why Rob gave it a shot. These serious collector types lurk then devour and they return to their silence. Sean Connery stopped by the studio one day while I had it and posed -
