    3800 Epson Driver Issue

I am working with an iMAC on Snow Leopard, printing with an Epson 3800. I recently upgraded from Photoshop CS3 to Photoshop CS5. I have very carefully entered the same color settings in CS3 and CS5, and I am using the same settings in all of the Epson printer dialog boxes. I have checked them carefully about a dozen times. But test prints of the same file, the PDN color tonal palette, do not match at all.

Using QTR profiles the same file prints identically whether sent from CS3 or CS5.

What am I doing wrong with the Epson driver?

    Sandy

That link isn't working for me, so I can only assume you got your answer, Sandy. If not, it's an issue with CS5, Macs, and the Epson driver.

The workaround described in Mark Dubovouy's article works for me.

Hopefully this will be corrected soon by either Apple or Adobe as the workaround, while not a major hassle, is another step we really should not have to go through to print a file with no color management.

    Re: 3800 Epson Driver Issue

Not Snow Leopard, but awhile back I found that OS 10.4 came with all the Epson drivers preloaded, and these conflicted with the newer drivers I was trying to install and color manage for my Epson R1800. Had to clean out all the pre-installed ones and reinstall the latest Epson one to get it to work. (Found some little shareware utility that did this one task, slick as a whistle.)
