On the eve of my departure from London last month, I was strolling along the South Bank and noticed a view camera displayed at the OXO Gallery. I ventured inside, and was pleasantly surprised to see some very fine landscape photography by Paul Gallagher. He was engaged in conversation, so I returned later in the afternoon to have another look at his photographs. We got into conversation, a pleasant chap indeed, typical of the small community of partially insane individuals using large format cameras.

We had the usual banter of who we were and Paul proudly showed me his camera, my first encounter with an Ebony 4x5. Surely an adequate camera, as evidenced by his work. He uses film and prints digitally. I wanted to share his work, please have a look.
