    Ries C 100

I'm looking for a tripod for my Toyo 45AII (6lbs). Would a Ries C100 be fine or am I better with the J100? The cost and weight of the C100 are appealing.

Thought on the C100 itself, and how it compares to the J100 would be appreciated.

I opted for the J-series for my Arca-Swiss field camera. Felt it gave more stability when using longer lenses since the bellows would be extended to act more like a sail.

chris...i have both j100-2 and a100-2...the latter for 8x10 arca...rarely use the a series as the lighter j series supports it nicely...don't know about the c series, but a j100 would be nice if you move to a larger format...besides they are made here in the wonderful pacific northwest doug

Thanks for the replies so far.

Anybody using the C100? Lesser weight is appealing but there's almost no information about it on the internet.
