walking in the footsteps of James Dean

On a recent trip to Fairmont Indiana, which is some 60 miles from me .. I made a series of photographs with the new 8x10 point&shoot (Hostilux) camera.

In this photograph you see the Dean home pretty much the way it was when actor James Dean lived there. The family has made a special driveway for his fans to pull off on and take pictures and video the property. Notice the dog that came out to greet me.

This is a shot of the original barn that was always there but has had a three car garage added to it in recent years.. The fence is original

This is a shot of Main street looking south.. You can find several photographs of James with this old white building which used to be the hardware store and bank in the background..

This is a shot of the motorcycle garage that James Dean would often be seen at getting his bike worked on and just hanging out with friends.. This garage sits just down the road to the north from his home

    Correction: Fairmount IN

By the way Jimmy's cousin, Marcus Winslow still lives here in the home.

Nice work. The first two are exceptional. I'd love to see the original prints...

    Thx guys,,

I intend to return soon to photograph the high school that James attended .. As of now the school sits abandoned and is in disrepair.. There are efforts to raise the money to restore the building but the money just doesn't seem to come in.
I also want to explore better viewpoints of the historical landmarks to better highlight there unique structure..
