Double 120 film developing tank for Hewes Steel Reels.

I would like to buy two Hewes Pro Stainless 120 Steel Reels

and look for double 120 film developing tank. I am not quite sure if these Hewes steel reels fit well to Paterson Super System 4 developing tank... is it ok?
or should I rather find a stainless steel double 120 film developing tank?
Which one would you recommend?

I don't know how interchangeable the ss and Paterson systems are, but I use Hewes reels with Kindermann and no-name reels in a variety of tanks, all stainless steel.
I believe you should keep steel with steel, plastic with plastic.

I have (4) 2-120 reel tanks for sale, 3 with rubber lids. No 120 reels though.

You cant put SS reels in paterson tanks, because paterson use a central column for light-trap/fluid-intake.

So I have to look for double 120 Kindermann ss tank. Are Kindermann's 120 steel reels as good as Hewes ones?

Kindermann, Nikor, Omega and Hewes were all good reels. The Hewes had (IMO) a nicer mechanism for attaching the film to the core, making them easier to load. I'm not sure, however, that such a feature makes them worth the amount of money they seem to bring. Stainless is currently a mixture of brands and I just grab whatever falls into my hand first unless I'm using the Jobo for a multi-reel run. Then I will sort out the Hewes because they fit correctly over the Jobo stainless steel core.

The reels will fit any brand of stainless tanks, but are not interchangable with any plastic tanks. You will need a tank that holds four 35mm reels(double 120) Try looking on Apug classifieds, I think there some available there.

There are lots of single 120 ss tanks for sale... do you think it's possible & safe to
put two 120 films on one reel? Are the any ss reels better and more prefered than others for this?

Hewes reels are great, used to be imported by Arkay. I worked in a medical photolab and we were constantly buying reels, one drop and the cheap reels are gone. Bought 40 Hewes reels and hardly ever bought another reel, actually saved us $. The 35 reels load faster too, two pins grab the film and keep the film straight. 120 is a little different, have never had to replace the 4 I have.
For tanks any good SS tank, I d have a plastic tank that works too, built for SS reels, can't remember the manufacturer, has a large filling spout so chemical get in and leave faster. Watch out for Kinderman tanks, with rough handling the top edge will crack and you have a light leak, why i bought the funky plastic one.
