This will be a workshop for established and beginning wet plate photographers concentrating on the topic of the still life. We will look at precedents and the aesthetics of the still life in the medium before proceeding to create our first plates. All students will go through the process with Kerik and create their own wet plate ambrotype after some discussion of the still life and looking at Kerik's work and that of others. A lunch will be served and we will look at the students work and discuss at the end of the day.

Kerik Kouklis has been practising the wet plate technique for about as long as anyone out there. His work has been shown in print and galleries such as the Ansel Adams Gallery, The Photographers' Gallery, Gallery 291 and others. He has taught workshops for many years including those for Photographer's Formulary, The Ansel Adams Gallery and the list goes on. This is a terrific chance to take one of his workshops while he's in the area.

Workshop fee is $275 - and a further $20 off if purchased online - and/or 15% off if purchased online.

The workshop will be hosted at our gallery in Los Angeles, CA on Sept.4, Sept.5, Sept.11, Sept.12, 2010. SPACE WILL BE LIMITED. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Please write to: workshops@c4gallery.com or call us at 323.462.1600 if you have any questions.
