    Who knows this voigtlander

    Hello,

i recently bought this lens but can't find anything on the internet
    It's a voigtlander aprochromat collinear 50cm 1:9
It's about 4 1/4 inches long and 3 inches wide and heavy (for such a small lens)

It has 2 very heavy lensparts in it. Unfortunately 1 part suffers from severe separation.

Does anyone knows anything about this lens ???

Dan pointed me to this add on evilbay : 370365205287

    Thanks

    Alex (from Holland)

It was a 1920's process lens. It has 3 cemented elements in each group like a Dagor, but the formula is different from a dagor. ++-......-++

The APO Skopar (heliar type) that replaced it in the 1950's is sharper.

The Lens Vade Mecum dates it at 1906 by the serial number and also confirms it as an early anastigmat design. You didn't get it from the guy in India, did you? Every time I see an old lens with no flange and the bejeezus polished out of it, I feel like there a good chance it came from the same dealer.

Nope, i "found" it over here in Holland
    so it's an early version.

Is it worth restoring ?? (lensseparation)

BTW what is the meaning of Bejeezus ??

I think it's worth restoring, but the question is whether you can do it yourself. Begeezus is an exclamation--the India dealer polishes every last bit of finish off his lenses.
