    Transparency Adapter 5x7

    I have a Epson 750 V flatbed scanner,
I would like to find a 3rd party that makes a 5x7 adapter for this scanner.

I made my own using black mounting board and a mat board cutter. It works fine.

What I want to do is scan full fram.
I am experminting with some old Kodak film clips.
They seem to give me the hight so I am in fouces and keep the film from contact with the glass. Thar way I can keep the neutin ring from forming.

That Better Scanning website suggested by Walter looks like it has a number of solutions. I wasn't aware of the site before but it seems legit.

That's not a bad idea.. take a 5x7 metal film hanger and cover the parts with black tape or paint parts black. Should be about the same height.

Find a piece of anti-glare glass and suspend it above the bed at the correct height using coins, washers or some type of shim stock. Make a mask out of black cardboard from the stationery shop. Tape negatives on using the betterscanning method. It is a slow business, so even if you buy a betterscanning holder you will need some extra glass so that you can be mounting the next negative as the scanner is working. I proof scan with the epson holder and make keeper scans with the betterscanning holder, although that is not an option for 5x7. Those nylon screws on the betterscanning holder are difficult to use and I do not believe they are absolutely immutable.

Dont spend your money because the sheep say you should, like I did. I would recommend the cheap way first.
