Cirkut camera and the demise of Verichrome Pan

Now that Kodak has announced the end of Verichrome Pan, does that mean the end o f the Cirkut camera as a viable format? I think VP was the last film available in 8"x5' rolls. I don't have a Cirkut myself, but I've always liked the format and would hate to see it disappear. Any users know of potential substitutes?

I wondered when that would happen so I traded mine a couple of years ago for SWC, Maybe now is the time to do that.

Photo Warehouse, in Oxnard, California is the place to get your LARGE format film. (805-485-9654). They will custom slit to any size and length. The film is private label 125 and 400 speed , "made in England" (I wonder who that might be???). If you don't want the hassle of cutting it to length, ask them to (carefully) cut their 20" x 24" sheets into 8" x 20" sheets. It's the lowest cost for monster size film on the planet. (Good stuff, too)

I've never used Verichrome Pan in my Cirkut camera, it just costs too much. Most of us guys either use 9 1/2" aerial film or bulk rolls from Forte or Ilford which also means you can cut them any length for super long pans. I don't think there will ever be a problem getting roll film for Cirkut cameras as long as the small guys like Forte are around.

I forgot to tell you guys to check out my website www.bigshotz.co.nz I'm in the middle of refurbing it and got lots of Cirkut stuff to add that was on my previous site. There's a few Cirkut pics here but I've got a lot more to upload.
