    Re: Industry

It's something I've specialised in since the mid 1980's although most of my images are Industrial landscapes.

This was made in the last year of sugar manufacture before the Kidderminster Sugar Beet factory was shut & demolished.

Both images are of the beet juice extractor, Wist 45DX and 90mm Grandagon, Tmax 100 & Xtol, Polywarmtone/ID-78/ Selenium toned.

I use to shoot a lot of abandon industrial scenes, but there just aren't as many around the city anymore. At the time, they were one of my favorite subjects.

Very nice! Please keep them coming.

I have a question: how do you folks get access to these sites, the abandoned ones? Do you seek permission? The ones I have seen, and those that have appealed to me, all have "No Trespassing" signs posted conspicuously.

    Re: Industry

The last one I photographed had been vandalised so access was easy, I would have been able to get permission anyway, it happened to be the former Raistrick & Foster foundry that built the first steam locomotive to run in the US.

Often sites are open despite the warning signs and as they are usually due for demolition no-one is bothered it's more a safety issue.

I did a series of images on my SWC of abandoned places, (called Things Falling Apart on my website).

I enjoy industrial settings, but I don't want to get shell-shocked by it all.

I shoulda shot them on large format, but I prefer the swc.

Almost every location I shot in my series had very questionable access methods. I have a clean criminal record still.

Perfect timing. Here are 3 I shot yesterday at our ancient machine shop here in Tonopah.

    Hey Sean

I like this photo the best, my only two comment that could be critcial is whatever your using to scan with is producing too much noise. Also the third image you see a lot of halo-ing as a result of your older lens, a polarizer might help. Aside from that they are well done....especially this image.
