I'm also curious. I keep seeing that pop up when I'm looking for the long Horseman one.
Yes - I've had one for more than two years and I swear by it. It cannot be focused but simply magnifies. It's very nice and sturdy, and has a rubber seal that rests against your GG.
I recommend it (obviously)
Are we truly creative, or simply too lethargic to become pedestrian?
I've had one for about 3 years.
Just replaced it with a "square" 4x Peak loupe.
The Gaoersi one is good: crystal clear and no distortion; however, I wanted to try the Peak one with a lot less magnification and square base to get into corners.
So, Frank, to summarise, it is a great product if you want an 8x loupe!!

It'll be interesting to see how it performs. (I've not had time to try it yet, even just on the GG). What issues did you have with the Peak?
I found that I was often focusing in the GG surface, rather than the image, with the Gaoersi's 8x power, so decided that I'd try something with less power. And I figure that a square base was a much more logical design given we shoot images with corners, not radii...
Maybe I'll set up a camera this weekend and see how it goes.

I have a bunch of loupes, including the square 4x Peak, Rodenstock 4x, Doctor Optic 7x.... I use the Peak most often. Unless you have a very fine ground glass/fresnel combination, 8x might be too much magnification.

I just ordered one of these, and will be very curious to try it out. I'm a big believer in 8X - 10X... I just can't see fine focus at 4X. I tried someone else's Rodenstock aspheric 6X recently, and found it quite nice. I almost ordered that, but was too scared to move down to 6X.
I have a Peak 10x a Nikon 7x which I think is also a Peak, the long Horseman 6x and the tilting loupe from Silvestry 6x my first a cheap Hama 5x!
I really like the long Horseman the best! Second is the tiny Silvestry the Peak 7x and 10x are to strong for my taste!
Cheers Armin
I've been looking for the long Horseman for awhile now. Never knew about this alternative and may have to check it out. Thanks & kind regards.
