Buy / Sell Forum?

Can anyone tell me why I can't view the posts in the Buy / Sell forum? Do I have to have a higher post count in order to do so?

I think you need to be a member for a month in order to view the buy/sell forum

You don't need a higher count, you just have to be a member here for 30 days. Since you joined in March, your time will be up some time in April.

Unfortunately too many spammers would join and flood the For Sale section with junk so the 30-day rule reduces that.

It's a shame though, if you're active on the forum, or get a reference from a known member, that they couldn't let you onto the For Sale section sooner. Obviously you're not a robot so maybe a mod could wave their magic wand in the case of a specific request?

It might not make good policy but do we really need to hold to such strict rules when we're (mostly) adults?

What you're saying makes a lot of sense--unless you're a robot, too! The real purpose of the 30 day limit is to prevent people who find a case of Veritos in their attic from selling them here for $25.

Posts in buy/sell shouldn't count.

Everytime I get the short end, it's with a poster who has a message count of "2", but signed on and waited for the clock to open the doors.

We used to have a rule saying 30 days or x# of posts, but people who were only registering to sell something would post the required number of inane posts or "what do you think this camera (the one they were getting ready to sell) is worth?" posts. So we did away with that and left the 30 day wait. If that is too long for some people......well they don't have to moderate all the spam that comes in here. It does help to cut it down.

Frank, As per making an exception for this seller.........aren't you the one who is ALWAYS complaining about the moderators capriciously enforcing the rules?

I have a feeling that you will get a bunch of offers from folks who want to sell their 4x5 film holders.

BTW, if they offer to sell, it needs be late model Fidelity Elites with plastic handles in exc.+ condition.
