    'infraction point system'

Would someone like to explain the 'infraction point system'?

What does it mean exactly? How long will ''3 points'' last? Do members have a set number of points to begin with?

The content of my post was political but so are almost all of the others in the same thread. Why did I receive an infraction notice while others didn't?

Don't quote me the guidelines on this matter when the lounge is flooded with politics.
I would like some clarification on what appears to be a completely arbitrary system of handling the thread in question.

    Dear kev curry,

You have received an infraction at Large Format Photography Forum.

    http://www.largeformatphotography.in...d.php?p=567022

    Reason: politics
    -------
    you know the rules
    -------

This infraction is worth 3 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

    All the best,
    Large Format Photography Forum

The points mean nothing really, I have to fill in the blanks with something or the software won't proceed. By making the warning official I can keep better track of who has been warned for future reference.
    Thanks,

It is a function of the underlying board software. See the manual: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/user_infractions

You have to go to a reeducation camp Kev, someplace without any cairns in a snowstorm ;-)

C'mon... it doesn't ahve to be that extreme. It is Lent, after all. How about five Hail Mary's and an Our Father... followed by an Act of Contrition?

Oh, no... how do I delete that? I'm likely to get a "religion" infraction. H-E-L-P!

How about Hairy Mary's and a How's your father?
Otherwise your insurance premiums are going to go up too...
