    Tripod fitting on Toyo 4x5

I have a toyo 4x5 field camera. Lately the female connection to the tripod has become loose. I can unscrew the outer piece but not the inner bit which seems to be the problem. I can't figure out how to get to it.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I have rebuilt my 45A, and I had to take the bottom off. IIRC, there is a vinyl ring covering three screws that may release a large chrome ring? The actual socket may be in a separate piece that is trapped under the plastic bottom of the camera. This plastic bottom is glued in place, but comes loose if gently pried around the edges, use a putty knife, or something similar. Again, this is off the top of my head, I don't have the camera here in front of me. let me know if you have any more questions, I have taken this camera apart several times, and have some notes at home. BTW, the parts are readily available from the MAC Group. look on Toyo's website for their Phone number and have them send you a parts diagram, then call for the parts.
