    J and C 8x10 film

I just got some of this film from a forum member, and I can't find any reliable information on the internet as to what it is (re-branded...), or what a starting development time would be.

Some say it is Adox, others say Foma, and still others say it's Arista Edu.

Fwiw, I use HC-110, if anybody can help me out, and the film I have is ISO 400.

    Thanks in advance.

Expose it at 250 and give it 8 minutes in a tray in HC110 dil.b at 68f. This should at least put you in the ballpark.

Some of it was Chinese, there was a big problem as batches of it was cut oversized. I used a pack and it was OK.

J&C repackaged all kinds of things, possibly including some film runs which were discounted to them because the nominal speed was off, though the batch might have been fine in other respects.

I had some 200 and it was Fortepan, IIRC. Good stuff, too!

    Thanks, everybody.
I found more threads that indicate it is Fortepan, than those that indicate otherwise.
So, I'll develop it according to Forte specs.

The stuff i have is fortepan 400. I rate it at 200 and use pmk. I don't have the times in front of me. Look up classicpan 400 times as well. Awesome film.

The interesting part is the Forte factory started life as a Kodak plant before WWII, it was a subsidiary of Kodak Ltd (UK) and produced Super X and Tri-X sheet film, the Fortepan 200 & 400 are related to those pre WWII films

Thanks for that, Ian; I'm really looking forward to using this film.
