Exact image size for 5x7 and wholeplate

Could somebody please help me with the exact image size on the film for 5 x 7 and 6.5 x 8.5, modern holders, preferably in cm/mm. Thank you.

The film size is always smaller as the plate size so plate-holders can be loaded with film together with an inlay.

The usable image size of 5x7" holders is 120 x 170mm.

    Thank you Peter.
Do you know if there are any Chamonix 5 x 7 or wholeplate cameras in Germany? (I sometimes go to Berlin) I'm considering buying one or the other, or may be a 5 x 7 non-folding Ebony.

That's what my Fidelity and Lisco 5x7 holders expose also. The Chamonix 5x7 holders I tested exposed approximately 1mm less in each direction.

Lotus "wholeplate" holders as well as the Chamonix holders that were patterned after them expose 157.6 x 206.9mm.

Thank you Sal - that's smaller than I thought.

    Sorry I don't know.

13x18cm was a common plate- and film-size for professionals but never 5x7". The next larger size is/was 18x24cm and also 8x10" is often used.

Sal, would it be you who bought the first Chamonix wholeplate camera? If so, would you mind me asking you a few questions?

Per, I bought the first Ebony wholeplate camera:

I also bought the first Chamonix wholeplate holders, sending one of my original Lotus holders to Chamonix for matching. Happy to answer any of your questions about this!
