Where to locate out of print books

This is not a question, but I am posting this url as a reference for locating th e used books that are often mentioned on this website. It doesn't do much good t o know about a book if you can't find a copy. The website searches the listings of many dealers in new & used books, so you can shop for the best prices. I am n ot affiliated with Abe Books, but turn to them often when I need something, or w ant to appraise a book that I have. I'm sure others will be able to add more goo d websites.

The Barnes and Noble site has a similar out-of-print search service linked to a network of dealers. The site is: http://www.bn.com/.

I've used www.addall.com to find reasonably priced copies of several out-of-print books.

Where to locate out of print books

One good thing about Amazon.com is that they allow regular ol' people, like you and me, to sell used books, in or out of print, through the site. Since we're building a little resource here, I just thought I'd add my two cents.

www.bookfinder.com is - I think - the best, since it searches many sites, including PhotoEye and www.abebooks.com. I'd avoid buying anything through alibris.com. all they do is buy from other dealers and mark the price up anywhere from 25% to 50%, "or more!"
