Throughout the month of February, EXPOSURE is a celebration of photo-based work featuring numerous events and openings in galleries in Calgary, Banff and Canmore. The Exposure brochure is here: http://www.exposure2010.ca/

My own show, When Water Dreams, is presented by Willock & Sax Gallery in Banff, with the opening event on February 6. http://www.willockandsaxgallery.com/

When Water Dreams was photographed in large part with a Hasselblad HD3II. Does that qualify as large format these days? In any case the prints are large, 20x30 in. and larger. The whole project was done from a helicopter over the salt ponds and sloughs at the south end of San Francisco Bay. The natural colors and graphic quality of the landscape are stunning. The issue of the ponds and sloughs is complex and controversial, with Bay cities expanding on to the sloughs, Cargill Corporation planning to fill some of its salt ponds for development and environmental organizations and some governments working to restore wetlands.

Have a look at the exposure brochure, and if you are in the area don't miss the EXPOSURE shows and events.
Cheers,
Bill Peters
