I have researched extensively recently as I just purchased a 12", but could not find any images from the 16"... good luck and please share if you find.
Jay,
The images should be indistiguishable from the 305mm since they're the same design. The 16" will just produce the same field of view on a larger plate, so looking for the 305mm may be more productive.
I have a 16" Kodak Portrait but haven't shot with it yet, the flange is off being mounted on a board. It's also interesting to note that it will cover 12x20 with the edges/corners getting pretty wild, almost like a 12x20 Holga only far more pleasing image quality.
Cheers, Steve
I have both the 305 and the 405 but as Steve i need to shoot with the 405
The 305 was meant for 5x7 so yes it does get a little wild on 8x10
The 405 is a monster compared to the much smaller 305, only a hat or piece of cardboard or similar will work as a shutter.
Recently acquired one myself and have not shot it either. I now have a 5-inch Packard shutter that I'm am setting up to work with 2-liter soda bottle sized Petzval. I'm wondering if it is worth the extra time to setup this shutter to also work with the 16-inch Kodak Portrait Lens now, or make it "someday" project. So, I am looking for photos taken with the lens to help motivate me, or not...
Kodak 16" Portrait, wide open, 14"x17" Bergger BPF.
