    Finally bought a camera

Well, I've fired the trigger on an ebay Sinar F2.

    I've bought this one:

Having spent a fair bit of the day comparing models, strongly considering field cameras, I decided to go for the technical looking one and this seemed as good as deal as any I've seen. I've read the pros and cons of both kinds of cameras and this one felt right for me. I can always sell it on if I don't get on with it and I'm sure I'll get what I paid for it.

So what next! Lens, lens board, shutter, shutter release, film holders, dark cloth. I've got a Sekonic 758 light meter and a fairly substantial tripod and head (manfrotto carbon fibre affair and a acratech ultimate ballhead).

    Have I missed anything?

    Cheers for your advice guys!

    Welly

edit: Ok, I've probably paid a little over the odds but the guy seems like a good seller, so that instills confidence in what I'm buying

Check all movements to the extremes. They are usually OK though - these are just well functioning sets but surplus to requirements in the digital age. This is a good period to buy modern lenses/shutter combinations too! I bought from him some time ago which was an OK experience.

Congrats welly! I just bought a Sinar F, and from different sellers all of the other stuff I need. I'm looking forward to the frustration!

I can't help thinking you paid over the top for your F2...I got a Sinar C at less than half that price! However you won't go far wrong with a Sinar. Enjoy and get shooting soon.

    Cheers Dave

Thanks guys I'll be waiting impatiently while this thing is shipped over. Just noticed this thread is in the wrong forum, if the mods want to move it, please do.

Dave, yeah, I probably did pay too much having had another look on ebay but I suppose them's the breaks! I was impatient and I compared with a few other deals and it felt right. Oh well! Cheaper than new at least
