    FYI: porting VadeMecum to iPhone

    Hi all!

    The link says it all:
What I've been doing in my holidays.
I'm doing this with Bob Wheeler's consent and I'm trying to copy his functionality as closely as possible. So, sorry, I can't consider suggestions for "improvements". VadeMecum for iPhone will be free and should be up at the iTunes App Store in a few weeks. I'll post a comment at the original link when it's up.

    See you, Christoph

Will LFPF members get a discount?

Although I don't have an iPhone (and likely never will), I'm sure many iTographers will appreciate having VadeMecum on theirs. So, kudos for doing the work.

Question Re: FYI: porting VadeMecum to iPhone

I'm trying to determine the status of the planned port from Palm to IPhone. Has it been ported? Is it in the IPhone Application store? What is it named? I've searched the app store and the closest app I can find is Photo Buddy; but it doesn't do the range of calculations that vade mecum performed.
    Thanks,
    Bob Younger

Sorry, have to report a fail on that. What with other commitments, I couldn't bring it to conclusion. Anyone willing to take up the project is most welcome.

Re: FYI: porting VadeMecum to iPhone or Android sys

At this point I'm willing to do it; personally now for the Android systems.
Can you give me Bob Wheeler's contact info? I would like to get his up-check on porting this to the Android system; and subsequently to the Iphone.
    Thanks,
    Bob Younger

Originally I contacted him through his website at http://www.bobwheeler.com/ , but that domain is up for renewal or deletion. So, sorry, can't help there.

If anyone out there knows Bob Wheeler, or knows how to contact him, I'd sure appreciate it. I don't know that I can do this for free, but the cost per individual should be minimal.
    Thanks,

iPhone and Android are two totally different programming platforms you are asking quite a lot getting it ported to both. Android and Windows Mobile is probably easier- since both platforms support some form of Java which is much more portable than the language iPhone requires.
