New iPhone App. Photographers Guide to Arches

My partner, Bret Edge and I have just released iFotoGuide, a photographer's guide to Arches National Park.

    Here's a link to the App: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/M...337311105&mt=8

We're both photographers and I'm an LF photographer. I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions.

We're already working on versions for Yosemite and Canyonlands.

Cool. I'm curious what it takes to make an iPhone app and how much content can you fit into an app. I'm working on a photo guide to Mt. Rainier NP, first a Website, and then a NP entrance/location/trail guide book with maps, but you make an app look like a good idea too, at least a general guide with some examples, like yours.

I downloaded this app for my itouch, and it's working fine. For anyone thinking of going to Arches (especially the first time), it would be money well-spent to use this for advance planning and while at the Park.

I would say that it takes a similar amount of content for a photographer's guide book. You need to cover important locations. Let photogs know in advance what to plan for light wise and let them know the best times for each location.

On top of that we have information on hotels, camping, restaurants, shopping and more.

If you have the photos and the guide informations, perhaps we can work out a deal and create an app for Ranier out of your information.

Thanks. I got some homework and reading to do before my photo guide is ready for an app, but it's something to look at for 2010.

I hope it works better than your http://www.ifotoguide.com/ website. Comes up HUGE at normal browser size. (Safari)

The website works just fine here. Why would there be any objections to LARGEness in a LARGE FORMAT forum?

Doug, do you have to work at being abrasive or does it just come naturally??

Especially when a goodly portion of us here NEED to have larger text and images!

Dan's iPhone app is very nicely done! Highly recommended if you are planning to head to Arches!

Works fine on my Safari. Some introspection wouldn't hurt -
