Help, I just purchased a Crown speed graphic, and some film. As a convert from digital, I now find that it is hard to find a company that will process the film. If anyone has any suggestions on processsing locations or websites, I need the info.

Also, since I am new at LF can anyone recommend a GOOD book on how best to use the camera? I will be doing more reseach on this, but some personal input is very important. I have a Crown Speed Graphic from 1947, with two lenses and 20 film holders, including a speed pack. Bought it from the original owner who was a photographer during WWII and then started his own business, but found that making corporate movies was more "fun" Camera is like brand new.

    Thank you,

Checkout www.graflex.org. There is a lot of helpful information there, plus another forum.

There is also a book that is often recommended, called Graphic Graflex Photography: http://www.amazon.com/Graphic-Grafle.../dp/0871000180

    Hi,

    I'm also new in LF.
I bought a Crown Graphic three weeks ago.
You will find different Graflex manuals here :

    http://www.butkus.org/chinon/graflex.htm

    I recommend two books :

The camera, by Ansel Adams. Chapter 10, view-camera adjustments, is essential.

Using the view camera, by Steve Simmons

    Dear lastout173d,

I use Phoenix Imaging in Chicago. It is the new name for Precision Imaging (Same place, new owner & name).

They still follow the Precision Imaging prices: http://www.precisionimagechicago.com/index.htm

Welcome to group therepy! Hey, your new Crown (or Speed) Graphic was born the same year I was!!! That must be a very special camera! By the way, "Crown" and "Speed" were two different models of camera, both made by Graphic.

I don't know the term "speed pack", but if you're refering to a "film pack adapter", they don't make film for those any more. If its a "Grafmatic" film holder, those take standard film.

The resources already given you by the other responders were excellent. Have fun with your new camera!
