    Paypal Personal Payment

In case this is not widely known, I can recommend "Paypal Personal Payment".

In Paypal, choose Send Money and then the Personal payment tab (see screenshot). It appears that no or very little fees are incurred. I think there are some downsides, like no "seller protection" or similar, so best used for people you know and/or trust - but then, would you really rely on Paypal to bail you out? Use at your own risk of course, just a tip.

    Re: Paypal Personal Payment

The last few times I have sent paypal transactions, there have not been any fees deducted. I can't figure out why, I'm doing for good/services if I remember correctly. Does it matter if you have it linked to your bank versus a credit/debit card?

I really have no idea. Sometimes for cross-border it is more, or depending on the funding (existing balance etc.). Probably a combination of things, but the personal is always cheaper, even with fees it is around 1% and you can choose who pays for the fees.

Sending money is free on paypal, its the requester/receiver who pays the fees.
They are deducted from the received amount.
Last time i checked, a credit card is about 3% + $.30 transaction fee.

That's my point, I received a payment this morning without deductions using Personal Payment. Otherwise I would not mention this. Try it yourself with someone's email ID and then don't press the final button.

No they don't. But it has to be from a PayPal balance.

If there are fees (1% it seems, so already lower than normal) the sender can choose who gets the fees. Or there are no fees at all... anyway, if you don't want to use this, feel free to ignore, I'm just trying to be nice to you guys

    Re: Paypal Personal Payment

    My experience:

There are no fees for a personal transfer IF the transfer is from a paypal balance or a bank account. And if it is not a cross border transfer or require currency conversion. It cannot be from a credit card.

Because it is a transfer and not a purchase, there is no link to shipping.
