Just Got My Epson Pro 3800 (Having Problems)

Hi. I just received my Epson 3800 today & printed a few test strips on "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" & the results i am getting are horrible. The greens look all smudged like a painting & the colors are way way off. Here is my setup:

24" Imac (Monitor Professionally Profiled) MacOS 10.6.1
Using latest Printer Driver 6.11/3.57 (Off epson Website)
Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Settings: North America Prepress 2)
Assigned Profile for image: Adobe RGB 1998

This is what i have done so far:

    1: File Print
2: Photoshop Manages Colors, Pro38 PGPP (Profile), Black Point Compensation, Match Print Colors & Perceptual.
3: Click Print & under "print settings" select PGPP as "media type". Color, Color settings: OFF, 2880 DPI, High Speed: Off.
    4: Print.

I would appreciate any advice. Thanks - Rupa

YOur problem is the media type - that should be something like "Glossy Premium" Semi-gloss, etc. It seems you used the profile instead of a "media"

One thing not clear to me....

Is it safe to presume you are using Epson brand paper? You only indicated "premium glossy photo paper".

Hi & thanks for the reply. PGPP stands for "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" which is the paper i am using. Anyway, in the meantime i ran a Print Head Cleaning which fixed the problem, i did a test print & the colors are perfect.

    Thanks - Rupa

EDIT: Yes i am using Epson Brand paper.
