Sorry, I thought ignoire was the French translation for the Eskimo word for a black igloo. My mistake...

I heard that black igloos are kind of trendy these days. Hmmm, maybe that was a name of a band ?

Is there a way to ignore a thread? I can do this on every other vBulletin site I use as well as on APUG which has migrated to another platform, but I can't find a way to do it here.

So far as I can tell, our installation of vBulletin allows flags to be set in a member's profile so that entire subforums go away, but there appears to be no way to make individual threads disappear. However, I'm very far from being a vBulletin expert so it's certainly possible I'm missing something. Pending any further guidance on this from Tom, can you point to examples of this capability on other vBulletin sites?

I can on my pilot forums but you'd have to join to see it. If you click the drop down by "thread tools" when reading a thread there is an option to ignore that thread:

    http://www.purpleboard.net/forums/index.php

On PilotsOfAmerica it was there in the same place but I hadn't been there in a while and just checked. It now seems they have also migrated to Xenforo and now it's a little link on the upper right when reading any thread, not part of a drop down:

    http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/

I tried my Ham Radio forum but I don't see the option there. It may be on a newer version of vBulletin (I know that the Purpleboard is intentionally staying with an old version) but I had the option on APUG right up until the change to the new software (and still do on the new version.)

Not a big deal I suppose.
