LF macro can be an aching endeavor whose results often help one forget the pain.
This was one of those back-breaking, time-consuming set-ups.
(And perhaps a winning argument for a UV protection filter? )

Another one of that time consuming endeavours. And this one supposes to be flat! Enlarger lens (probably 150 mm), Linhof Cardan on Velvia (half darkslide method of creating two panoramic images on one sheet of 5x4 film).

Even though Tessars and Heliars open to f/4.5, the aberrations lessen quite a bit once you get down to f/8 or smaller. Having a round aperture helps too of course: vintage barrel lenses are great. Too bad the modern manufacturers don't provide lenses with circular apertures.
