    Hello from The Netherlands

    Hi all,

After spending several years shooting Leica (and ditching more and more digital stuff in the process ) I felt I want to get into LF for the sake of portrait work detail, and to allow shooting hacked lenses with a bellows/focal plane camera.

Currently considering my options, the Graflexes are appealling but I decided to join here and get onto speed with LF before making a choice. And also to gather some confidence on the 4x5 film process, which is quite an upward move when it comes to handling etc. in the darkroom that I do not have yet.

I'll be shooting 35mm and reading here until I feel certain I should take the plunge.

Welcome to group therepy! The Speeds and Crowns are a good way to start without investing an arm and a leg...the Supers and Super Speeds a little more expensive as a rule, but still very affordable. Since you express an interest in portrature, you'll probably want to add a spare lens board and a lens in the 200mm to 250mm range pretty quickly. Have fun!
