    Grafmatic under the ground glass?

Hey - I'm watching a few Grafmatic film holders on the bay, thinking of picking one up to save bulk.

I have no experience of these, and they look really thick and chunky, so as the title suggests... are they supposed to go under the ground glass with it still in place, or should I be removing the glass first?

Silly question maybe, but the spings on my ground glass are tight - it's a nice tight fit for a normal film holder or a Quickload holder and I wonder if the much thicker Grafmatic would actually fit??

    Thanks in advance

Grafmatics are thicker than standard film holders but we can only guess if they will fit your camera since we don't know what camera you own. If you tell exactly which camera you have someone here can likely comment on the fit of Grafmatics in your particular camera.

Thanks, I have a Cambo currently but would like to know for the future if it will fit under the glass of others, say an Ebony non-folding.

My SW45 takes Grafmatics just fine.

I have five Grafmatics that I use in my Super Graphic and in my Linhofs on a regular basis without difficulty. I leave the ground glass back on the camera, but I also set the Grafloks because sometimes you have to be a little vigorous with the film changing maneuver that could lift the Grafmatic away from the camera.
