I fixed it so it will look normal to large format photographers...

...and another couple of plates I poured today...thought I'd try some macro and use the one and only waterhouse stop I own for my Voigt. The second Half plate Ambrotype was shot wide open (f3.5) for 15sec the first with the stop for 2 1/2 mins.

I have been enjoying the wet plate work!

Here is a recent carbon print, though the 4x5 negative was made in 1995

Vaughn, it is nice to see some smaller carbons. I'm going to break out some of the small negatives and see what I can print. Nice image and great control of the highlights.

    Re: post alternative techniques

Always seem to say this should go in the tree post but it is an alternative print so I put it here. 8x10 carbon transfer that is part of the series I'm doing on the Black Oak survival in Yosemite. I had a lot of back light to deal with in this image and the Pyrocat-HD tamed the Efke-25 negative nicely. It took some time to get the contrast right on the print ( took 3 tries). May not present itself well here but the sense of light in the print is really nice.

Stunning, and I hope you will post more carbon transfer prints.

Thanks, I've printed a very nice 8x20 carbon. Problem is how to digitize it so I can post it. I do have more 8x10's from Yosemite to print so I will post them when I get the prints done.

8x10 Carbon transfer print on fixed out fibre-based (matte) paper. (HP5+ negative developed in pyrocat-hd).
The relief on this paper is quite nice.
