No, I never had a chance to visit US (though I do hope I'll get there once). France is much easier to get to. There are of course many churches on this side of the Alps, but to find such pure architecture as these old Cistercian buildings anywhere here is quite difficult.

It was a treat to see this fall after 2 miles hiking through the Sapa mountains rice terrace . It's located North of Vietnam, about 30 min to South China border . It's unspoiled land but very difficult to get there .It took us 9 hrs by train (100 years old train left by the French back in the 1930') from Hanoi is the only transportation in order to get there beside the moped bicycle. If you plan to go there please reserve your train 6 months in advance.
And yes to Dave .This print sings on my study room wall.You are a psychic
