    Making the ac light tight

I have just finished the construction of my new darkroom, an 8x8 structure in the garage. I have yet to finish painting and stuff like that, but nearly there. Anyway, I noticed yesterday that a small amount of light is coming in through the ac unit. Not the edges, but through the vents. Hoping this is common, and you guys all have the perfect solution.
    Cheers

    Shading the outside will help.

You could also build a light proof vent box.
