My very first photograph with a large format camera (4x5):
First light with my then brand new Toyo 45CF (without Fresnel). Rodenstock 150mm Apo-Sirona S, Fuji Velvia. It took me 45 minutes or so to set it up, focus, and finally open the shutter.
Critiques are welcome!
This was my first image using 8x10. It's cropped a wee bit at the bottom.
I started using 4x5 in '93, but pretty sure I chucked my first 4x5 neg when I moved back to Canada... it dumped a lot of crap then.

Thanks Scott!
This particular location, known as Round Valley here in the San Francisco Bay, was a ancient religious site among the indigenous Indians that once inhabited the area. The camera was purchased from B&H in September '02 and delivered in early November along with the lens. So that dates the image to late autumn, 2002 and it was first light for both the camera and lens.
Lachlan 617, You caught that little pun, eh? This toilet had been abandoned at the mine for about 5 years when I photographed it. Lots of snakes, rats, bees, wasps to contend with, along with the humidity. At least there was no smell.
There's no way in hell that I'd actually use it. I had a good laugh at the foot pads. "stand here. take aim".

Still have to work on my scanning skills and probably need a new lens but at least I loaded the film properly and exposed correctly.
You can view larger at my flickr.
Only back into 4x5 for about 2 weeks, man I so happy to be back
