Comparison of Beattie and Maxwell Screens

Has anyone done a side-by-side comparison of these screens?

Comparison of Beattie and Maxwell Screens

I changed the original screen on my Rollei 2.8F for a Beattie. It was very bright, but still not so easy to focus. Changed to a Maxwell and found it focused much more easily and is still very bright. I don't know how that would translate to large format, however, as I used the split image model.

Comparison of Beattie and Maxwell Screens

Hallo there! I would like to know how does the Maxwell screen compare to the original Rolleiflex GX 2,8 Bright screen (the camera has two, one standard and one very much brighter) I have both but could use some help for my ole eyes! greetings

As is often the case on this site, here's the answer I know, rather than the one to the question you asked! I've used Boss Screens and Maxwell side by side at 4X5. I think Maxwell is the brightest and easiest screen to focus out there. Plus it won't melt (as my Boss screen did walking down the street in Africa in the sun!) Sorry can't comment on the Beattie. Big advantage of Maxwell is not just brightness but VERY finely ruled, nearly invisible Fresnel lines, esp in the 8X10 version.

What is the difference between fresnel and beattie screens?
