    Gitzo still made in France?

Are the Gitzo tripods and heads still made in France? I have someone trying to tell me that the older heads were better because they were actually made in France and not imported as they are now.
    Does anybody know this...?
    Thank you,
    Robert Newcomb

Gitzo is owned by Manfrotto, and their gear is made at the Manfrotto plant in Italy: http://reviews.photographyreview.com...better-tripod/

Gitzo is made in Italy today. Manfrotto moved the factory there after they bought it several years ago.

I recently bought two monopods, one carbon fiber, one alloy.
I did not notice a change of quality in the units I bought vs older gear. I have used Gitzo for 20 plus years.
