Kenko KFM-2100 meter - anyone use this?

I've been reading the other threads on spot meters, and not wanting to hijack someone elses thread, wonder if anyone is using the Kenko KFM-2100 meter, and how you rate it?
    I think its basically a re-badged Minolta.
There's one UK retailer that is selling them new for £285 (a very big discount on the recommended price), and this makes it the least expensive spot meter in the UK I think.
Having read the other threads I have been looking to see if there are any used Sekonic 508 around, but can't see any, but there is a L-608 listed at £239.
Is the 608 very similar to the 508, and which makes more sense - a new KFM-2100 or a used l-608 at £54 more? Or are either recommended?
    Thanks for any advice.

I have the Konica Minolta Flashmeter VI, which is what the Kenko KFM-2100 used to be called. It is a superb meter with all the functionality I require. The only shortcoming can be that it only does shutter priority, but I have got so used to that, that it doesn't bother me any more.

As to price, Robert White claim to have limited stock at £195+VAT, which is the kind of price you want to snatch it up at

I have the Kenko, bought from Robert Whites at the offer they have now. Good meter, far more features than I need but very accurate and OK to use, I find the ergonomics a little awkward but that is personal of course.
It can be used in EV mode too. I am quite happy with mine.

New moon, I am only able to answer your question on the 508/608 difference based on my readings on those meters.

Basically, the 508 has two design faults.

One was that in spot flash metering mode, it would not read below f/8.

The other is that there is no viewfinder read-out of the meter readings.

Not quite a design fault, but some folks found the 508 a little prone to flare problems affecting spot reading accuracy.

The above were claimed to be addressed in the 608.

    Hope this helps.
