    Re: Giottos Head

I have the quick release. It's fine. It has a secondary locking feature, which I disabled, but you might like. The machining is fine, and the surface has a slight texture, which means that sliding a plate in isn't quite as smooth as with an Arca, Really Right Stuff or Kirk clamp, but maybe the surface will be a little more resistant to wear. The locking is smooth, although not the ultra-smooth of Arca or RRS. All in all, I'm very happy with it, especially considering the cost savings over the other options.
