I think your design and attention to detail is very good! I'm anxious to see how all of this comes out.

    Best of luck,
    Randy

Agreed, looks like funky, but still bad Art Deco. All the best!

Love the design..and look forward to the bellows kit - I think you will find a whole new group of interested people in camera collectors - if you can offer a red outer covering then it would make a good affordable replacement for original bellows...

And if you decide to upsize the design to a 8X 10 then you have at least one buyer....

    Good Luck!

Fantastic, I've been considering a little folding camera for times when I don't want to/can't be bothered to take out the sinar rig. Consider a kit sold.

For marketing purposes, I believe it would be best to offer a pdf drawing so the user could make a camera from scratch, another kit with only the metal parts, and another with metal and wood parts, and a fourth which would be the completed camera.

I would rather see stainless steel parts than brass as stainless is far more durable.

Hey! I like Art Deco! And that camera doesn't go far enough, not by a long shot! And I want an 8x10 version, too. Could it be convertible with an 11x14 back?

I believe Sorin is on vacation at least until next year. Which...I guess is pretty soon.

So does anyone have any idea what's going on with the DIY camera kit site? I discovered it last week (or so) while doing some web searches but this week when I try to visit, it's been listed as an attack site and I can't get through to it unless I disable a bunch of browser security stuff that shouldn't be disabled? Does anyone know these guys and what progress has been made on releasing the kit?

I had my own site listed as an attack site once by firefox's "safe browsing" or whatever the hell. The problem was that my site was with a pretty insecure host with servers that were always being compromised, and links to trojan "virus scan" sites were always being added in weird places in my web directories. It would take me awhile to notice; and when I inevitably got blacklisted by one of the safe browsing services, I had to spend a fair bit of time fighting with google to have the flag removed.

Something like that may have happened here.

Eventually I got fed up and moved to another host and I've had no problems.
