Chicago LF Outing May 16th

The May outing of the Midwest Large Format Asylum will be on the 16th (always the 3rd Saturday of the month). We will be photographing some of the historic bridges on the south side of Chicago.

Breakfast will be at 8:30 at the Little Branch Cafe, 1251 South Prairie Avenue (near 18th Street & Michigan Avenue), Chicago, IL 60605, where plans for the day will be decided.

For anybody interested, a pre-breakfast shoot will begin around 6 am near the intersection of Prairie & 18th Streets.

Detailed plans can be found in forum section at www.midwestlargeformat.com You will need to register the first time, but it is free.

All shooters are welcome using any format, but remember, we move at a large format pace. If you have been reading about our outings here every month, & have been considering joining us one of these times, we hope you will consider coming on the 16th.

The pre-breakfast location has been changed to the Michigan Avenue bridge at Michigan & Hubbard Streets. We will meet on the lower level at Hubbard Street near Billy Goat's Tavern.....Cheeborger, Cheesborger, Cheeps, No Fries, Coke, No Pepsi.

We meet at a breakfast location and have been doing so every month for many years. This location is germaine to the topic of "Groups and Meetings" and everybody likes to know what kind of place it is. When is the next Chicago meetup?

It will be in September, middle of the month, but it will be a fairly long trip out to western Iowa.
Here's the current schedule:
September 19th - Iowa
October 17th - Open (southern Indiana or Chicago River)
November 14th - Monticello RR Museum

The Iowa outing will start in Des Moines - 5 1/2 - 6 hour drive west of Chicago. We will be photographing various areas - quilt barns, rural landscape and steam train engine and other trains, vintage - living history farms.

Dang... No car!

If we do October 17th in the city, I could offer my studio as a base. I'm near Kinzie & Odgen, surrounded by lots of interesting industrial landscape and not too far from the river.
