    Hi from Sweden!

    Hi all,

just took the plunge into LF territory with a Burke & James 4x5 Orbit camera. Actually just came back from picking it up

Now i just need to figure everything out and how to shoot polaroids with it and maybe also how to sync my flashes to it.

Looking forward to many posts here.

Welcome to group therepy! Do you already have a lens & shutter for your new camera? If so, look to see if there is a sync outlet on the shutter, usually a two-pronged outlet or a regular PC outlet, but others, such as the ASA Bayonet sync outlet, have been used on some shutters also. In any case, the sync outlet will be part of the shutter assembly if there is one.

The Orbit is a good basic 4x5 and is a great starting point. Many accessories are readily available either on eBay or from the various on-line stores. Its main disadvantage is that it doesn't have a "universal" back alowing easy replacement of the ground-glass with a roll-film back, but the Calumet slide-in roll film holder will work with it just fine.

    Re: Hi from Sweden!

Thanx for the info Vick! Boy have i ended up at the right forum =)

I got a Tominon 135 4,5 with a Copalshutter Polaroid MP-4,and the only connector on it is a standard wire remote shutter release (ie. the threaded cable prong that triggers the shutter).

So does this mean i could get a different shutter assembly and put on the camera which may have flash sync aswell then? If that is the case then that is awesome.

The guy i got it off also hinted that there are a polaroid case for the Fuji FP-100C/B series of instant film which would be great since i use that film on my RZ-67 already. And that is one of the few instant/polaroid type films that are made today that i know of.

Now im definately going to see if i can get that calumet slide-in roll film holder. That would be a great alternative to sheet films for me.

Thank you again for the info Vick. =)

And today when i had some time to sit down with the camera a bit more thorough i discover a little PC contact on it, so hook it up to the flash units and lo and behold. it triggers fine =)
