    Ansel's Tree Requiem (Part Duh)

Ansel's Tree Requiem (view in HQ mode)

    As per previous post:

The oak tree next to the Merced River in Yosemite National Park, most famously photographed by Ansel Adams, fell into the river sometime in February of 2009. It was a scene of the most exquisite morning light during a few months of the year - one which inspired me greatly during all months of the year. At least, or at most, we still have the photographs.

    Additional personal reflections...

It was still in the same place in the river yesterday...we'll see where the Spring run-off will deposit it.

Why don't you grab pieces of it and sell them on ebay?

Why bother going to the trouble of actually grabbing an actual piece of it, just get some wood and advertise it on eBay as such.
Unless of course you have ethics...

I can't imagine the NPS condoning this. I wonder what happen to the remnants of the Jeffery Pine on Sentinel Dome - it seems that it "decomposed" rather quickly.

Hmm, this would be good wood for the true cross.

In related news the famous Joshua Tree from the 1987 U2 album of the same name also recently fell down
