    Scanning b/w prints help

    Hi all !
I am in need to scan my prints to send them to curator. Prints are 8x10 or less, black and white sepia / selenium toned. There are many lith prints as well. I need 100% size ( 1:1 ) best quality scans. I bought Epson 4490 yesterday, but I am absolutely new to scanning. So here is the question - I need quick tips, hints and links to usefull reading etc.
    Thanks in advance,
    Igor.

I scan in color (Adobe 1998) at 720 dpi. 360 is sufficient though. Do all of my post correction work in Photoshop. Look to get a full histogram before you save it to file, then you will have plenty to work with.

For quick tips, helpful reading, etc. try Wayne Fulton's web site. Or order his book called "A Few Scanning Tips." Don't let the title fool you, "a few" scanning tips runs a couple hundred pages. But I think a lot of the book is on the web site. I don't have the site address handy, just Google on Wayne Fulton and it will come up.
